About Us

mteSA is a Community Based, Not for Profit Group Training organisation specialising in Traineeships and Apprenticeships. It is run by a board of directors comprised of local business leaders.

Operating under the Group Training Model, mteSA is the legal employer of the Apprentice/Trainee and undertake processes and administration paperwork required to successfully manage the program. This includes;

  • Payroll - Wages (Annual Leave Loading where required)
  • PAYG Statements
  • Industry Superannuation
  • Contract of Training with an Apprentice Network Provider
  • Registered Training Organisation (e.g. TAFE) enrolment and liaison

In addition to this, mteSA take on the responsibility of monitoring the progress and performance of the employee both on-the-job and off-the-job.

All trades and industry-focused Trainee placements are available.  We work closely with local industry and throughout South Australia where the majority of graduates gain ongoing sustainable employment with their Host Employers upon completion of their studies.

Established in 1997, we have qualified staff sharing decades of experience in recruitment, employment, training, and management. Since 1997, mteSA has employed over 3000 Apprentices, Trainees, and labour workers. mteSA has also attained Commonwealth Government Recognition of Standards, which means that it is recognized by State and Federal Governments for meeting the eight standards for a group training organisation.

We take pride in assisting our long-term unemployed Indigenous Australians and Youth at Risk to participate in job preparation activities that lead to gaining employment. We also provide programs supporting people at risk. These programs offer intervention strategies, prevention practices, and guidance. mteSA are also great advocates of school leavers who are interested in starting their career through an Apprenticeship or Traineeship pathway. 

Our core role in the community is to seek engagement with people at all levels and promote employment and training opportunities in Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Labour Hire, or Full-Time employment. 

Our experienced team also assists our Apprentices and Trainees to undertake tutoring and mentoring to further enhance success in their chosen vocations. mteSA supports this by covering the costs associated with these extra programs. 

In addition to this, mteSA cover all costs associated with complimentary services for challenging situations.  These include;

  • Social Workers
  • Family Therapists
  • Mental Health Providers
  • Drug and Alcohol Specialists
  • Other Health Care Providers

mteSA pays for all associated training costs throughout the Apprenticeship or Traineeship. This alleviates some of the financial burden associated with seeking support services from the Apprentice or Trainee.

All uniforms, safety equipment, industry standard footwear and approved First Aid Kits are provided by us. We ensure that all Personal Protective Equipment is compliant with current Work, Health and Safety standards for their particular industry.

Our aim is to help build confidence, pride, and self-esteem through furthering the education of Apprentices, Trainees and Labour Hire personnel. This empowerment supports sustainable employment outcomes, creates career paths, enhances life skills, and provides financial security.
